Teaching:
When looking for a piano teacher for my 5-year-old daughter, I hope to find someone who not only could teach her to play the piano but also could nurture a love for music and the piano which would last.  Carol fulfills all those needs for us through effective teaching of music theory, mechanics and performance in a manner that kept each lesson enjoyable and interesting, year after year for our daughter until she graduated from high school!! Even now when she is home from colleges, she plays the piano for pleasure and relaxation, so the 13+ years of lessons with Ms. Carol continue to bless our family!

Convinced of Carol's teaching gift and love for music as well as here care for people, I took harp lessons from her for several years.  It was a delight to learn from her patient and gracious instruction.  She has great suggestions for music to learn and also listens for what music I am interest in learning.  I appreciate also the extra effort she invests in creating harp ensembles for her students to play together.  I highly recommend Carol to anyone interested in learning the harp or piano, whether a child or adult!

I am so please that my near middle-school aged daughter has the honor of taking lessons with Carol.  My daughter can be hesitant to taking on a new skill, but Carol has made the whole process enjoyable and manageable.  My daughter gets a lot of encouragement and support from Carol.  Even though she was a beginner.  Carol introduced her to satisfying songs that didn't sound like little kid music.  We have been surprised to see our daughter'
s dedication to daily practice.  It's been a good mix of skill exercise and songs that seem to be at the right level of difficulty - not too hard and increasingly challenging as she is ready.  We have been amazed in the progress she has made our the last several months.  She was apprehensive about performing at her first recital, but she found she as prepared and enjoyed participating.  Learning from Carol has been immensely rewarding. Besides being a fantastic teacher, she is a wonderful role model, filled with kindness and care that matches her excellence.

I've been a student of Carol's for around 18 months.  It has been an ongoing pleasure to have her as an instructor.  She does in-person or online sessions depending on our learning style. Each session is catered to my needs (practicing songs, exercises, technique, rhythm, etc.,).  Also, because I'm a world traveler, she and her husband helped me find a travel size harp where we can continue our weekly lessons.  Mind you, I do not have a musical background, however, Carol is very kind, supportive and encouraging to bring the best out of me.  Fun fact, because Carol does have a piano background, it's been fun harmonizing piano sheet music with the harp.  Happy harp playing!!!!

Weddings:
Carol is the best harpist in the wedding business.  She can learn and play any song, is punctual and will only make your special day better.  Not only is she a beautiful harpist, but she is one of the most thoughtful people I know.  She ensured that the music for our wedding was truly representative of my partner and me as couple, which made our ceremony a genuinely meaningful and magical experience.  She was also great at helping us plan the different parts of our ceremony such as needing a dong for the bridal party, processional and recessional etc.  We were surprised at how well she was able to take some of our favorite classical and contemporary songs and weave them as a beautiful medley into each part of our ceremony.  Our guests are sill talking about her playing to this day, it was truly a highlight and brough a calming and peaceful energy to the event.  I appreciated her dedication to our wedding as well.  Weeks leading up to the wedding, she sent us beautiful clips of our chosen songs and would check in frequently, she truly went above and beyond.  I wish I could have more weddings just to watch and hear her play.  She is that good!

For our daughter's wedding on 9/23/2023, we wanted a harpist to perform at the ceremony because we wanted the music to match the outside environment.  It wasn't overpowering and added a peacefulness to the wedding.  We were so thrilled when we found Carol a few years ago!  Carol was amazing from the initial call to the very end.  She learned all the songs we wanted.  To name a few:  "Some Thing Never Change (Frozen), See the Light (Tangled), All You Need Is Love (Beatles), Nesseum Forma and Fellowship (Lord of the Rings).  You will not be disappointed if you hire Carol for your event.  All of our guests are raving about the beautiful ceremony with the harpist still.  Plus, her harp is amplified which helps with the outdoor setting.  Thank you, Carol for creating the best memories for us!

I started taking piano lessons with Carol in 1997 when I was 9 years old.  Ever since I was little, I remember her having the most patience with me and I looked forward to having my lessons with her every week.  Years later< I moved away for college and work, eventually moving back to Sacramento in 2015.  Despite stopping lessons due to major life events, I never lost my ability to read music thanks to the dedication of Carol's teaching.  When I stated planning my wedding, there was no one else I wanted to help me with my music other that Carol Ng.  To me, she is family.  She is talented and kind, and her love for her students and the talent she has for her instruments is evident.  She was to play every song on the piano that I wanted during my ceremony, whether it be classical or modern.  Not only that, she provided beautiful harp music during my cocktail hour that left my quests quite impressed.  She brought a natural, classic elegance to help make my dream wedding perfect.  Whether it be for lessons or to serve as a musical provider for an event, I would highly recommend Carol in a heartbeat!

Carol Ng is a wonderful musician. I recently hired her to play the harp during my wedding ceremony at Vizcaya and let me tell you that she was a hit! All of my guests loved her beautiful music, and her music really set the romantic and beautiful tones for my wedding.

It was important to me that she knew how to play certain songs (such as Ed Sheren - Thinking Out Loud, Christina Peri - A Thousand Years, and Jason Mraz - I'm Yours), and she definitely did. If she didn't, then she would strive to learn how to play it. She was great to work with as she was professional, friendly, accommodating, and responsive. If she didn't have an answer to something, her husband Ken would step in and help. Ken helped me obtain a microphone and a speaker for my wedding. Both were really friendly and professional.

Not only does Carol play the harp at weddings, but she teaches it and plays the harp at the hospital to help heal patients. I am fortunate to be able to work with her. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone looking for a musician!
